For the upcoming Geng Yin year – Yang Metal sitting on top of Tiger (Yang Wood, Yang Fire and Yang Earth), at first glance it looks like a year of major conflict, due to the Heaven and Earth clash between the Yang Metal and Yang Wood, but when we take the Yang Fire and Yang Earth into account, there is an undercurrent of Qi flow between all these elements, which generates the Metal element.

Since the flow of Qi within the Tiger from the Wood to the Fire and then the Earth, the active Metal energy is constantly fed behind the scene in one sense. We can expect a lot of action (positive and negative) related to the Metal element, which can represent the metal mining industries, jewellery business, automotive industries, airplane manufacturing, war machines, armed forces, financial institutions, think tanks, high-tech industries, engineering, etc. Of course there will be more aggression and unrest between warring nations.

Since the Water element is the mitigating factor between the Yang Metal and Yang Wood, an open line of communication between dissenting parties will help to smooth out the problems – a good mediator at the first sign of trouble is paramount.

In terms of health issues, the Metal element is related to the large intestines, the lungs – respiratory system, the brain and auto-immune system; pay particular attention to these areas. A full medical check-up and investigative tests, preventative measures, e.g. immunization shots, commitment to a healthy life style and eating habits, will help bolster the Human factor in the big picture – the Cosmic Trinity - Heaven, Earth and Man/Human Luck.

Since the Tiger clashes with the Monkey in the Four Pillars of Destiny analysis, people who have the Monkey in their charts will expect some upheavals in their lives for this year. And for people who were born in the previous Geng Yin year (1950), some major changes in life can be mitigated by their own positive actions and attitudes this year. Of course the good Feng Shui in their environment will have a positive impact too.

The Year of the Yang Metal Tiger (2010) Feng Shui Guide:

1. Tai Sui is in Yin - East - Northeast - (encompasses 15 degrees) –
   Do not sit facing Tai Sui, which is the strongest qi of the year, and the leader of all the annual sha qi, even if it is one of your good directions according to Ba Zhai. Do not go against the Tai Sui. In case of construction or renovation, select an auspicious day for commencement of the project. Avoid major earth digging, hammering and loud commotions.
2. Sui Po is in Shen – West - Southwest (encompasses 15 degrees) –
   The annual qi that challenges Tai Sui, as Shen clashes Yin directly. It should not be activated to annoy Tai Sui, e.g. by major earth digging, hammering and loud commotions, and select an auspicious day for commencement of any project.
3. San Sha (Three Killings) is in the North (encompasses 90 degrees) –
   • Jie Sha (Robbery Sha – the 30 degrees between 315 to 345 degrees)
   • Zai Sha (Calamity Sha – the 30 degrees between 345 to 15 degrees)
   • Sui Sha (Year Sha – the 30 degrees between 15 to 45 degrees)
   Tai Sui Yin belongs to the Fire Alliance – Yin, Wu and Xu. San Sha Water is in direct conflict against Fire, we need to confront this sha qi by facing it. Do not sit with your back towards it. Any major work in these sectors are not advisable, day selection will be helpful for construction commencement on an auspicious day.
4. Five Yellow is in Wei, Kun and Shen - Southwest (encompasses 45 degrees) –
   A strong negative Earth qi which could cause bankruptcy, obstacles and accidents. We can harmonize this qi by playing soft beautiful piano music, a chiming clock with round moving metal pendulum - metal sound that can be heard in this part of the house.
   Do not disturb this area, e.g. dig earth, hammer nails, construction, etc.
