The Earth Chart, which is also known as the Luo Shu Numbers/Magic Square gives us the basic Yin Qi in our environment as follows:

Qi also comes towards us from the eight different directions, and changes with different cycles and periods in time. We are now living within the Period 8 (Feb.4, 2004 to Feb.4, 2024).

To locate the Yin Qi at a site, we place the current Ruling Star 8 White in the center, and fly the Stars backwards (yin order), where the 5 Yellow Earth Star is located is known as Zheng Shen, which is in the northeast. Zheng Shen is also defined as the most vibrant Mountain Dragon. If a mountain is located in the Zheng Shen direction of a house, the people living in the house will be healthy, have good relationships and capable of giving birth to babies.

To locate the Yang Qi at a site, we place the current Ruling Star 8 White in the center, and fly the Stars forwards (yang order), where the 5 Yellow Earth Star is located is known as Ling Shen. Ling Shen is also defined as the most vibrant Water Dragon. If a body of water is located in the Ling Shen direction of a house, the people living in the house will have wealth and prosperity.
