Xin Mao - Yin Metal Rabbit Year
*Feb. 3rd, 2011 (20:33 PST) - Feb. 4th, 2012 (02:23 PST)

For the upcoming Xin Mao year - Yin Metal sitting on top of Rabbit - Yin Wood, will be a year of conflict, due to the Heaven and Earth clash between the Metal and Wood.

We can expect a lot of action/reaction (positive and negative) between the East (Wood) and West (Metal), since both elements have the yin component, everything will be more subtle and behind the scene. One can say that it is finer Metal shaping the pliable Wood. More obviously the West (Metal) is trying to control the East (Wood). Once again the Water element is the mitigating factor between the Yin Metal and Yin Wood, an open line of communication between dissenting parties will help to smooth out any conflicts - a good mediator at the first sign of trouble is paramount.

The Metal element can represent the mining industries, jewellery business, financial and banking institutions, automotive industries, airplane manufacturing, war machines, armed forces, think tanks, high-tech industries, engineering, etc. On a personal level, it can also represent one's finances.

In terms of health issues, the Metal element is related to the large intestines, the lungs - respiratory system, the brain and auto-immune system; pay particular attention to these areas. A full medical check-up and investigative tests, preventative measures, e.g. immunization shots, commitment to a healthy life style and eating habits, will help bolster the Human factor in the big picture - the Cosmic Trinity - Heaven, Earth and Man/Human Luck.

Since the Rabbit clashes with the Rooster in the Four Pillars of Destiny analysis, people who have the Rooster in their destiny charts will expect some upheavals in their lives for this year. And for people who were born in the previous Xin Mao year (1951), some major changes in life can be mitigated by their own positive actions and attitudes this year. Of course good Feng Shui in their environment will have a positive impact too.

For more detailed look at the impact of the Yin Metal Rabbit on each person, we would need to look at the individual's Four Pillars of Destiny Chart - based on the year, month, day, hour and place of birth, in order to fully analyze the implication upon each individual's life within this solar year. The most important factor is each individual's Day Master, the Yang Element present on the day you were born.

The Year of the Yin Metal Rabbit (2011) Feng Shui Guide:
The Year of the Yin Metal Rabbit (2011) Feng Shui Guide

  1. Tai Sui is in Mao - East - (15 degrees) -
Do not sit facing Tai Sui, which is the strongest inauspicious qi of the year, and the leader of all the Annual Sha Qi, even if it is one of your good directions according to Ba Zhai. Do not go against the Tai Sui. In case of construction or renovation, select an auspicious day for commencement of the project. Avoid major earth digging, hammering and loud commotions within this sector.
  2. Sui Po is in Shen - West - Southwest (encompasses 15 degrees) -
The annual qi that challenges the Tai Sui, as You clashes Mao directly. It should not be activated to annoy Tai Sui, e.g. by major earth digging, hammering and loud commotions within this sector, and select an auspicious day for commencement of any project.
  3. San Sha (Three Killings) is in the West (90 degrees) -
    • Jie Sha (Robbery Sha - the 30 degrees between 225 to 255 degrees)
    • Zai Sha (Calamity Sha - the 30 degrees between 255 to 285 degrees)
    • Sui Sha (Year Sha - the 30 degrees between 285 to 315 degrees)
Tai Sui Mao belongs to the Wood Alliance - Hai, Mao and Wei. San Sha Metal is in direct conflict against Wood, we need to confront this Sha Qi by facing it. Do not sit with your back towards it. Any major work in these sectors are not advisable, date selection will be very helpful for construction commencement on an auspicious day.
  4. Five Yellow is in Jia, Mao, Yi - East (45 degrees) -
A strong negative Earth Qi, which could cause calamities, bankruptcy, obstacles and accidents. We can harmonize this Qi by Metal sounds within this part of the house - soft beautiful piano music, a chiming clock with round moving metal pendulum, etc.
Do not disturb this area, e.g. dig earth, hammer nails, construction, etc., date selection will be very helpful for construction commencement on an auspicious day.

Feng Shui is not static; we need to make changes constantly according to the passage of time on the individual space, in order to bring Sheng Qi and avoid Sha Qi in all the different aspects of our life.

Most importantly - knowing yourself according to your destiny chart, your strengths and weaknesses, your approach and attitude, your own action/inaction will have the biggest impact on your own life.
